Nokia 5320 XpressMusic

Posted in Unspecified

The Nokia 5320 is another expansion of Nokia’s music-centric range, although this time around it’s aimed at the youth looking not only for sound quality, but also unconventional features.

The 5320 XpressMusic design sways more towards the “no-nonsense” end of the market, which used to be a trademark trait of Sony Ericsson’s products. Among its attractions are good plastic, glossy front fascia and sides decked out in matte plastic. The 5320 comes in a choice of two colors – blue and red, but they only differ in the color of the side plates and navigation key.

The handset utilizes a 2-inch QVGA (240x320 pixels, 31x42 mm) display, capable of up to 16 million colors and outputting a pretty bright and discernible picture. All in all, the 5320’s screen is nothing to complain about. It can accommodate up to 8 text and 3 service lines with some modes pushing the upper limit even further – to 14 lines of text. All fonts are very readable.

Nokia 5310 XpressMusic

Posted in Unspecified

Nokia 5310 XpressMusic is a musical candybar with special player buttons. It works in GSM networks and has 30 MB of internal memory onboard, also they may be expanded with microSD memory cards up to 4 GB in capacity. Besides the device is provided with a 2.0MP camera, Bluetooth 2.0 module and FM stereo radio.

The rapid development of the XpressMusic line-up required the maker to come up with a variety of solutions, including those running the S40 platform. Along with its slim offerings, like the Nokia 6500 Classic, the maker comes up with a music-minded edition of this device and positions it as a decent solution for the youth. The concept behind the range seems to be consistent – all three solutions are pretty much equal sound-wise, yet differ in terms of functionality.

The phone measures up at 103,8x44,7x9,9 mm and tips out scales at 71 grams, meaning that it boasts a really skinny profile, which is what it impresses you with, pretty much like the Sony Ericsson W880i does. It will keep low profile anywhere you throw in – in a shirt’s pocket or jeans, so you can carry it as you please.

This handset has 2mpx camera which is not that much by today’s standards, but it is still pretty much sufficient for a mid-tier offering. Nokia has decided not to bet on the camera part, it is more of an optional feature here. This is why camera’s module picked for 5310 is one of the cheapest units out there, and provides average quality.

Nokia 5610 XpressMusic

Posted in Unspecified

Well those times are over, when cell phones where used only for calling and messaging. Nowadays the cell phones are used for listening to music, taking pictures, surfing the web and even watching TV. As Sony Erricson had very great results and many awards because of it’s little “singer” - the Walkman series. But now let’s have a look what Nokia offers us - Nokia XpressMusic 5610 !

Well without any doubt, I can tell you that the phone is made mainly for the youth and teens. The Phone is colorful, which I like very much. I am persoanlly sick of those black and grey depressive colors. I am maybe not a teen anymore for a time, but one thing is for sure, I love music ! So I bought Nokia XpressMusic, which just lives up to it’s hype. As I mentioned the phone is very colorful, the base color is red with black, and every time when I pick it out from my pocket, I just have a little smile in my face, just by looking at it. The phone is equiped with 3G, Bluetooth, HSCSD and GPRS.

Maybe at the first look the buttons of the phone can look quite “unhandy” but, believe me it’s not. I am a person with quite big fingers, but I have no problems using the phone’s keyboard at all. Infact I find it easier to use even than those big button keyboards. It’s just no matter in what condition you are, you always gonna press the right button. As I am a person who loves to travel alot, it’s very important to me, that the battery will not “die” in the first hours. Well for a surprise, it did not ! The phone actually can live up to ~20hours if you’re listening to music with your earphones. The phone has also quite loud built in speaker, and it has pretty good quality also, if you look at other so called “music - phones”. The phone’s camera is awaful. There are also worse camera’s out there, but for this phone it’s also quite bad. But for me, it’s not the main thing in the phone, so the camera does not distrub me from buying the phone. From first look the phone’s memory can
scare you off, it’s only around 40mb big, but don’t worry with the phone’s package when buying it, you get an 1GB Micro SD Card, so that solves the space problem for a time.

But there is one thing, that just annoys me totally, it’s the 2.5mm headset input. So this just disables the option for me to connect my favourite Headset which I have been using for a time. As most of the modern headsets use the 3.5mm. Well there is one way how to get your headset working with the phone, you have to buy the 3.5mm to 2.5mm converter, but that just adds another problem - too much and long wires, as the converter has also a quite long cable. So if you don’t want to strangle your self with the wires, and cables, you just have to use the Nokia’s earphones, which after a time started to like.

Overall the phone is great, and a very big opponent for the Walkman phones, I rate this phone 8 from 10, because of the 2.5mm input, it really annoys me, when Nokia is going to learn ?
